Hearing loss is graded: mild (26–40 dB), moderate (41–70 dB), severe (71–90 dB) and profound (90+ dB). Each degree calls for a different solution and device power.
Mild loss drops parts of sound; severe loss drops much of speech. The degree is found via audiometry and the solution chosen accordingly.
